Marble Stones Processing

Marble Stones Processing

The processing of marble stones is one of the most important stages. There are different methods of marble processing, some of which we will examine below.

Dimensions

According to the dimensions and extracted large blocks health, the maximum stone dimensions are determined in longitudinal and slab type. The larger the size of the cut stone, the higher the price. In addition to the stone type, consumer market demand is considered another important factor in determining stone processing. For example, stones such as Najaf Abad black marble, Dehbid Zare marble, Khoi marble, Persian Silk marble, Paradise marble, Cappuccino marble, Lashter marble, etc. are in demand in all dimensions (tiles, longitudinal, slabs, small bars, steps). This is while in some others, the slabs application is due to its cost-effectiveness and better stone presentation; It is popular (such as Paizan marble, Three Day Black marble, etc.).

Stone Painting

In most of the black marble stones, in order for the stone background to be darker and more effective, its surface is covered with colored materials. With this, as long as the stone is properly cared for and not exposed to sunlight, it will last longer. Therefore, it is recommended to use it indoors as much as possible. Because after a while, there will be no news of that initial color and glaze. In the foreign stones’ samples, this process is often seen.

Resin and UV

The resin materials application on marmite stones, in addition to covering possible seams and holes on the stone, makes the stone shinier and more polished. On the other hand, it prevents the moisture penetration and rotting and stone staining to a great extent. Of course, the materials type used and the steps involved affect the final stone quality. The next issue is related to making marble stones resistant to fading, which can be prevented to a large extent with UV. But in the end, we recommend that you avoid using these stones for the exterior and exposed to sunlight.

The Net Behind the Stone

Marble is a soft stone that is processed by different cutting machines according to the order type and dimensions, each of which has an effect on the work fineness and the final price. Another noteworthy point is the net behind the stone, which makes it more cohesive and stronger.

Surface Processing

Another stone processing is an operation that takes place on its surface. Among the finishes that can be applied on marbles, we can mention leathery, polished, sandblasted, bush hammer and axe, each of which is applied according to the stone type and its feasibility.
Meanwhile, polished finish is one of the most popular options that can be done on all of them and makes the stone design look better. The greater the stone maintain and the better-quality polishers are used for this, the more polished the surface will be; as if we see our image in the mirror.
The leather process is a lower maintain stone level, which we will notice by touching the surface, its low and high.
In some cases, the stone surface is made with a needle or an ax with the help of a machine or by hand to prevent friction, in this way, with the roughness created on the surface, the stone is prepared for use in the outer parts. ax stones Examples: Gandamak ax marble, Hersin ax marble, Lashter ax marble, Dehbid ax marble, etc. can be mentioned.

The Difference Between Marble and Onyx

Sometimes it is seen that Onyx is considered the same as marble, and this is completely wrong. Onyx has the ability to pass light through itself and it is formed from the travertine metamorphosis (it is a calcareous metamorphosis). This stone is softer than marble and needs more care and maintenance. Onyx is a delicate and fragile stone from which mill blocks are extracted. Most of its demand is in the slabs dimensions and we see its use in religious places and luxury commercial and residential buildings. Unlike marbles, Onyx is not found in abundance. It has very good maintain and is available in various colors. The Onyx price is higher than marble and it is considered one of the most expensive stones in the world.

Marble Stones Disadvantages

According to its origin conditions, each stone has unique characteristics that make it suitable for use in its own space. Due to the wide marble’s variety, it is natural that some of them differ greatly from each other. Therefore, generalizing about the good or bad stones characteristics is not scientifically correct.
In marbles with a high limestone veins amount, the water absorption and stone stainability increases. Also, the filling the surface possibility in these parts increases. Therefore, you should avoid using such a stone for the floor, especially the parts that are in contact with water and moisture.
Because it will also cause the stone to rot.
In all stones, resin is used to fill the seams and cracks and to insulate the stone. In order to prevent the stone from turning pale, its entire surface is covered with UV materials. However, in a stone like marble, which is inherently weak against light, this work does not last long.
For this reason, stones such as travertine and Chinese crystal are always suggested to stone facade buyers. On the other hand, by its nature, marble stone is recommended for covered areas and away from adverse weather conditions. Of course, there are exceptions (such as Lashter, Hersin, etc.)
Due to the marble stones sensitivity to acidic detergents, it is recommended to avoid using these substances on them.
In general, all stones durability and longevity secret lie in the way they are used and maintained. The less it is exposed to detergents and acidic substances, the longer it will last.
