Found a used Prado on Facebook Marketplace that looks clean in the photos and the price is almost too reasonable, but when I asked if I could get it inspected before paying a deposit the seller got weird about it and said “you can bring a mechanic to look at it in the parking lot.” That felt off to me, because a proper check on a lift is a completely different thing to someone poking around outside. I’ve been reading https://prepurchasecarinspection.ae/blog/warning-signs-used-car-inspection-dubai/ and a few of the things mentioned there are exactly what I’d want to check on this car, especially the accident history and chassis stuff. Am I being paranoid or is this a genuine reason to walk away? I’d love to hear from anyone who’s bought used here and whether sellers usually cooperate with inspections or push back like this.
Seller won’t let me take the car for an inspection, red flag?
