Minimalist view

This facade, which follows the principles of minimalist design, has gradually opened its place among the facades of residential buildings in Iran. Of course, some designers may like this view more for villas and smaller buildings and do not consider it suitable for large and high buildings.

The main goal and slogan of the minimal facade is to remove the extra decorations and make the building look beautiful as it is, following the principles of simplicity.

In the minimalist view, unnecessary and non-useful forms, lines and details are removed. Contrary to the Roman facade, which added large and prominent volumes to the building, the minimalist style keeps only the components that are among the functional parts of the building. This simplicity advances to the point where there is no disruption to the functioning of the main parts. The goal of architects who work in a minimalist style is to create the greatest impact in the viewer’s mind with the least details.

What are the features of minimalist design for the facade of the building?

Since nothing is supposed to be added to the building itself for the minimal facade, this facade usually cannot be changed in the future. In fact, the minimal view, while beautiful in creation, is completely functional and has no additional elements. A building with a minimal facade is actually the building itself, which has a bolder and more prominent identity and personality and stands out without colorful clothes and fabrics.

To achieve this goal, architects observe several principles that we will describe.

Using straight lines:

The type of lines used for minimalist design are very important. These lines should be simple and straight and no twists and turns can be seen in them. Such lines define the building in the most explicit way in the eye of the beholder, and their number should be kept to a minimum to avoid confusion and chaos.

Using simple volumes:

In this design style, volumes with straight lines and right angles are used. They also try to minimize the number of volumes that form a building together. Sometimes, in order to remove all extra extensions, the entire interior spaces of a building are placed in a cubic or rectangular volume.

Use of limited material type:

In this style, there is no news of multiplicity of materials. Removing extra material is one of the goals of minimalist style. For a minimalist view, they use one or at most two types of materials.

Use of limited colors: For a minimalist view, only one or at most two colors should be used. These colors are usually white or light. Of course, some designers prefer to remove even the element of color and settle for the main color of the material – for example, the color of the concrete itself.

With the explanations given, you might imagine that this style is very boring and even threatening! But in fact, a building with a minimalist facade makes your mind and soul less involved in details and is usually placed in harmony with the natural elements around it.

Today’s fast-paced lives and crowded cities have made this style have its own fans. These people prefer everything to be as close to its origin as possible, and buildings with detailed facades do not create visual anxiety.
