Been noticing a vibration through the steering wheel once I get above 100 and it’s been getting worse over the past few weeks. Had the wheels balanced twice and it helped for a day or two then came back, which makes me think one of them might actually be bent rather than just out of balance. I did hit a nasty pothole on the E11 a while back and I’ve been suspicious ever since. I’ve been looking for Fast rim straightening and refurbishing in ICAD since that’s near my office and I could drop the car off during the day rather than wasting a weekend. What I want to know is how they actually determine whether a rim is bent versus just needing a rebalance, and whether straightening actually works long term or if the wheel is weakened afterwards. I’d rather replace it if a repair is going to be dodgy, but obviously replacement is a lot more expensive. Anyone had a wheel straightened and had it hold up fine?

Vibration at highway speed, could it be a bent rim?
